Today's Wall Street Journal reveals what the Democrats really hope to achieve through their $1.9 trillion COVID boondoggle. An op-ed co-authored by the president and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute calls The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 a "stealth plan to enact universal basic income." The article in today's print edition of The Journal says:

Universal basic income is about to arrive in America. Congressional Democrats' $1.9 trillion stimulus bill provides for no-strings attached checks, limited only to parents of children under 18. This UBI for parents is billed as pandemic relief, but its real purpose is to put a stake in the heart of work-based welfare reform.

Perhaps you've heard the old saying, "When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you always get Paul's vote." How is this any different? Through this bill, the Democrats want to pay people NOT to work! That's simply unAmerican AND unsustainable! This vote-buying scheme could keep the radical, unhinged Left in power for generations -- or at least until taxpayer money runs out.

The late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher famously said, "The trouble with socialism is that, eventually, you run out of other people's money." Don't be fooled. This $1.9 trillion COVID boondoggle is another giant step toward turning the United States into a socialist nation that empowers tyranny at the expense of the American dream.

Later today, the Senate will begin debate on the The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. It is NOT a COVID-relief bill! This legislation is a Democrat "wish list" that will enact a radical, extreme, far-Left  agenda. Less than 9% of the bill's $1.9 trillion will be spent on actually fighting coronavirus!
