Sacramento Bee Publishes Disgusting Comic Mocking Texas Chemical Plant Explosion

The Sacramento Bee published a comic today that supposedly highlights the dangers of Texas’s light regulatory system. It uses the explosion at the West, Texas chemical plant to make it’s point:

From The Corner:

[The artist] defended himself on the paper’s website, arguing that the cartoon was “published to make a point” about the dangers of Texas’s taking pride in its light regulations.

I wonder how his comics on the lack of regulatory oversite in Kermit Gosnell’s “clinic” were received.

look bro, I live in Texas. Its definitely a bad joke…but so are alot of jokes that people laugh at. It was clever, and it was offensive, and it was kind of awesome. Thats smart comedy that is also a relevant concern.
