Congressman Allen West Names Names of Communists in Congress

James Krugnel has this at MEDIAite

“On Thursday’s Starting Point, CNN’s Soledad O’Brien held Florida Republican Congressman Allen West‘s feet to the fire over his allegations that up to 80 members of the House of Representatives were Communists. A visibly uncomfortable West squirmed as O’Brien demanded he start naming names.”

Apparently, O’Brien kept insisting that West name names, and was rather persistent about it, asking if this Congress person or that Congress person was a communist.

After a brief exchange, finally West responded with his usual, very direct charm :

“I’m calling it this,” West clarified. “Communist, progressive, Marxist, statist, another term being used. I’m looking at things they believe in. If you don’t think we have to stand upon truth and be able to identify and clearly contrast the different principles and values and ideologies of governance here in this country, then we’re never going to get to the fact of accepting the true debate happening in America. We don’t need a bureaucratic nanny state. We need to stay a Constitutional Republic. I think a lot of people need to study that and understand what it is.”

It’s Classic West:

Maxine Waters’ little slip of the tongue just proves this all. The press let her get away with it by covering it up. Look up the clip for yourself. West is my hero. Look for him in 2016, if we still have a republic……

  • StaberDearth

To think that Maxine Waters actually let an errant comment slip. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks!

  • Joseph Alexander Nagy Jr.

    Back to McCarthyism?

    • StaberDearth

Don’t be a useful idiot. Do you not do your own research on such issues? Judging from the way that most of the left votes, this might as well be communism, progressivism (an sanitized word for communism) or any other label that describes the obvious veer we have taken as a nation on our way to far left behaviors and policies.

  • Mickey White

Mr. West is on my Neo-Con list

    • StaberDearth

Now you appear to be on my useful idiot dumbarse list… Wake up! Breathe…

  • Deborah O’Rourke

  • Denise Lynne

sickening. they all must go! traitors to our constitution. send them to china since they love communism.

  • Kathy Jones

You know when he first made these allegations I thought no way and he needs to take a vacation. Now having gone through some of the politicians specific backgrounds now he very could be right.

  • Kevin V Gantnier Sr.

McCarthyism? Calling people out based on documented facts is not McCarthyism its just plain facts.
You probably think since I don’t like Obama I must be a racist …… Typical.

  • Mark Todd

No Jo, not at all. Watch the video for once, listen to what West is saying, read what the Progressive Democrats stand for and their history. Please….

  • Robert Ray Greene

The communist party usa membership rolls are publicly available, more than 70 “democrats” in elected positions ARE proud members.
Recognizing that fact is hardly “McCarthyism”.

  • Kevin Smith

The “enemy” is upon us and they have been for a long time. Now we know what they “look” like. United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

  • Scott Bierma

So to marginalize the FACT that we have card carrying members of the Democratic Socialist party in America who hold office in DC, the liberal plan is to label us McCarthy’s? Same lame plan they have for anyone who opposes the socialist agenda. Do some history lessons dude! This exactly how the communist revelution started overseas.

  • Marie Bowyer

    • StaberDearth

Somewhat rigid aren’t we? My main beef with Ron Paul is his incredibly naive flippant attempts at foreign policy. He makes some very valid points on fiscal structure and policy and the rights of the individual, but we have to have the complete package. Pau’s platform is half azzed! .

  • Michelle Gatses

    He is a Great Patriot!

  • Scott Bierma

Look up the DSA site and specifically the Chicago chapter….guess who used to be a member?

  • Vickie Alexander

no, just honesty about it, Joseph.

  • June Wilkins

roll some heads? I’ll believe that when I see it! The system is too infused with them. Any regular person can begin naming names if they want to investigate on the internet.

  • Carson Lauffer

The Left can’t cope with ideas. What’s new?

  • Courtney Anne Valentine

Marie, put out a call to action on RP wall – I know we will band together against tyranny and open his eyes!!

  • Richmond Nunn

Just google communist party members in congress and it will give you the names of about 70-75 congressmen and a few senators. Then make up your own mind. Personally, they should be purged from our legislative body. I stand with Allen West on this one. Communism is NOT dead-like so many misguided people now believe. It’s stated goals are still the same. Even if it has been incorporated into the Democratic platform like the Socialist Party of America was, in 1947!

  • Mitch Cole

Can we have Allen West for President!

  • Ronald E. Lundgren

    I’d settle for Vice-President.

  • John Maddalena

Like what he has to say; but he still signed the NDAA…Bad Move….

  • Kevin Wells

Obviously the oath of office means nothing to the socialists. I wonder if they can be expelled for breaking it?

  • Cindy Haire

The communist party usa membership rolls are publicly available, more than 70 “democrats” in elected positions ARE proud members. Look it up, it’s not hard to find. Facts are facts….GO Mr. West. I wish he would run for President.

  • Richard Venturelli

I think Glenn Beck posted links about the Card Carry Communists Congress a year ago.

  • Barbara Katherine

And to think the USA fought against communism. Go figure….

  • Drewed Hensley

Impeach pelosi, and boxer and imprison both to keep them safe! they both should be in padded rooms!

  • Warren Stinde

Drewed: They should be tried and punished for TREASON , with their LEADER !!

  • Manuel Figueroa

O’Brien is the communist. It’s shocking but not surprising.

  • Robert Langefels

  • AJ Weberman

the Soviet Union has fallen. The CPUSA hardly exists. West should not use the word so loosely

  • Mike S

Anyone like Obama who declares that free market capitalism to a total failure needs to explain what system of government they favor. The Social Justice crowd have gotten away with communist rhetoric while hiding under the Democratic party label. If you take away what this crowd does not like then you get either a totalitarian dictatorship or a communist state.

  • Gary M.

Rep. West does have a flair for flamboyancy, however when he explains how he connects the word /meaning of Communism and the Progressive movement in this country the similarities are inescapable. Big gov’t for one, redistribution of wealth , a desire for the gov’t to become the benefactor for the people and the gov’ts attempt to take over or control free enterprise are additional descriptions that not only define communism but ” Progressivism” . So in that vein, Mr West is correct in his description of members of the Progressive Caucus. For those old enough to remember, in the former USSR where just about all citizens were Communists, there was in deed a class system. You had the elite members of the Communist Party and the rest of the country. Those elite members led lives not unlike the “wealthy” in this country, but with one very big difference, they also distated how the masses were to live. In this country, those “elitists” are now occupying Congress and the White House. They talk of redistribution of wealth while at the same time assuring themselves of a fat cat life style…America has always had it’s Upper, Middle and lower classes, but the difference here, at least up until now is that every individual had the potential to be, do or accomplish anything they had the drive to achieve, The more our government takes over the decision making for all of us, the less power the individual has. What we will end up with is a people dependent upon the gov’t for the equivalent of their daily bread and as a people we will lose the drive for self promotion, for success and for a better life for ourselves and our children!
