It appears as though embezzlement, theft, intimidation, cover-ups and even murder (fast and furious) are somehow not enough to lead to arrests at the DOJ. So why would Attorney General Eric Holder bother arresting two DOJ prosecutors when he found out they were accepting cash bribes? Answer, he wouldn’t. And he didn’t.
A U.S. Justice Department source has told The Daily Caller that at least two DOJ prosecutors accepted cash bribes from allegedly corrupt finance executives who were indicted under court seal within the past 13 months, but never arrested or prosecuted.
The sitting governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, his attorney general and an unspecified number of Virgin Islands legislators also accepted bribes, the source said, adding that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is aware prosecutors and elected officials were bribed and otherwise compromised, but has not held anyone accountable.
Ironically, the prosecutors were investigating a financial crime ring. Instead of busting the crime ring, they apparently became a part of it.
That source said that until the summer of 2011, the two compromised prosecutors were part of a team of more than 25 federal prosecutors pursuing a financial crime ring, and at least five other prosecutors tasked to the case were also compromised by the criminal suspects they were investigating, without being bribed.
Thinking there is a possibility Holder didn’t know about this? Wrong.
“The team which was put in place, of course, in tracking all the information that we had — Holder had to sign off on the teams. He signed off on them a year and a half ago,†the source said during an interview. “He wasn’t fully in control of it, but of course the knowledge and approval of it came from him.â€
I suspect this story is going to blow wide open in the coming days. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Especially now that Congress is threatening to hold Holder in contempt of Congress over his refusal to release documents that he does not have authority or power to withhold.
Liberty News Network is currently working on a featured story about Holder and we’ll publish a more in depth follow-up to this story as more information becomes available.
In the meantime… please do not let this story die out. Share it with everyone you know. Click here to use a pre-made tweet to share it with your networks.
