Grassfire Nation (Parent company of LibertyNews.com) performed a survey from January 23-25, 2012. The survey was taken by 29,000 members and hit on a number of questions related to the 2012 GOP primary election. Of the 29,000, 75.7% of respondents said they closely identify with the ideals of the movement, and 17.2% said they are actively a part of the tea party movement.
The margin of error is at 0.56% with 95% confidence for the Grassfire Nation audience. First let’s take a look at the national results. We’ll follow up with some points about the numbers.
Question #1: If the caucus or primary were held in your state today, which of the following Republican presidential candidates would you support?
- Newt Gingrich – 48.2%
- Rick Santorum – 24.6%
- Mitt Romney – 14.8%
- Ron Paul – 12.4%
Question #2: Which of the following Republican presidential candidates do you think will ultimately win the G.O.P. nomination?
- Newt Gingrich – 54.7%
- Mitt Romney – 32.2%
- Rick Santorum – 6.9%
- Ron Paul – 6.2%
Question #3: Which of the following Republican presidential candidates in your opinion has the best chance to defeat President Obama?
- Newt Gingrich – 56.7%
- Mitt Romney – 23.1%
- Rick Santorum – 11.6%
- Ron Paul – 8.6%
Question #4: Please indicate which candidate(s) you would find acceptable as the GOP nominee
- Newt Gingrich – 69.1%
- Rick Santorum – 60.6%
- Mitt Romney – 42.5%
- Ron Paul – 21.7%
Question #5: Which of the following Republican presidential candidates is your LEAST FAVORITE?
- Ron Paul – 56.8%
- Mitt Romney – 24.7%
- Newt Gingrich – 13.1%
- Rick Santorum – 5.3%
Final Question: Would you support a conservative who ran for president as a third-party or independent candidate?
- No – 79.1%
- Yes – 15.6%
- Undecided – 5.3%
The take-aways here are numerous. It’s also important to note that our survey results jive with the latest out by Rasmussen showing 52% of tea party voters support Newt Gingrich.
According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Newt Gingrich now enjoys the support of 52 percent of Tea Party voters, and his huge advantage among such voters has vaulted him into the national lead in the GOP presidential race. The poll was taken yesterday, two days after Gingrich’s win in the South Carolina primary, and it shows the former speaker leading Mitt Romney by an overall margin of 7 percentage points — 35 to 28 percent. That result marks a 10-point swing between the two candidates from six days earlier, when Romney led Gingrich by 3 points in Rasmussen’s polling (30 to 27 percent), and a 20-point swing from 19 days earlier, when Romney led Gingrich by 13 points (29 to 16 percent).Â
That’s interesting because Rasmussen, while being accused as using his data to favor the “insiders,” has actually held a very accurate read on the vote to date. Rasmussen’s survey results have been right on the money in the first three states and it’s telling that our survey shows a reflection of what he’s finding.
Getting back to our survey…
First, for all the messaging we’ve seen about Ron Paul being the tea party granddaddy, it’s amazing that he fails to shine at any point in the survey. Ron Paul is clearly the least favorite out of the 29,000 surveyed, he’s perceived as the least likely nominee, and the tea party base views him as having the worst chances at defeating Barack Obama.
This flies in the face of the argument that Ron Paul’s foreign policy isn’t damaging to his brand. On domestic policy one could easily assume Ron Paul wins hands down. It’s the foreign policy that immediately yanks him to the back of the line.
(That last paragraph operates on assumption, albiet a safe one.)
Second, these results show a clear and indisputable rejection of Mitt Romney by the tea party base. On question #4, pertaining to candidates being acceptable, Romney can only pull 42.5%. That means every other tea party voter finds Romney totally unacceptable. That’s a BIG problem for Romney in that the tea party movement is currently the most energized part of the Republican voter base.
Third, tea partiers flat our reject the idea of a third party candidate in 2012. Hands down, no questions asked, there simply is no interest or support for such an effort.
Last, and definitely the most obvious, Newt Gingrich appears to have solidified strong support from just under half the tea party movement. Now the question is no longer one of who has the most support within the movement, it’s more a matter of the movement’s ability (or inability) to out-perform the traditional GOP primary voter base.
South Carolina was a major player in all of this, but Florida is the Ace. Florida can deliver a knock-out punch to either Romney or Gingrich. Yes, you can still pull off a win without Florida, but it would be a long and very difficult path.
Grassfire Nation also surveyed around 3,200 Florida primary voters and found that 55% currently support Newt Gingrich. Only 16.8 support Romney, and Santorum comes in with exactly the same.
Florida is the main event right now and it’s going to be a wild weekend going into the final 24 hour show. Buckle up and get ready… we’re about to find out who’s really winning this thing.

That’s interesting. I didn’t hear about the survey–wasn’t getting emails for awhile, for some reason. If I had taken it, it would have been another Santorum vote, with Gingrich second, although I’m not real fired up about it. Â Having to choose between Ron Paul and Obama would be really difficult for me, they both have such a lovely world view. I’m really glad that’s not likely to come up! If you just talk about scaling back on the wars and nation building, that sounds fine. Then it starts getting weird after that.
Well said! Ron Paul is a man with a strange outlook on life an reality. He reminds me of myself back in my get high dayz  He makes some very good points on things then seems to depart from his own mind, an then its like,,, beem em up Scotty. Something seems weird with him like he is simply a man with great intentions but in realty is a vote snatcher. I too like Santorum.
Conservative my eye! People are pathetic, you talk about throwing Obama out in 2012 yet many are supporting Gingrich who cosponsored the Fairness doctrine, supports Amnesty by his own words recently, believes in manmade global warming, supports cap and trade. Supported TARP bailout, defended Romneycare and the mandate. He is a big govt globalist who said in his own book that the constitution served us well but the time has come for it to be replaced. He supported The Violent Crime and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. That law placed additional restrictions on our 2nd Amendment Right to possess a firearm. By the polls so many idiots have jumped on board to our demise. You started out with the only conservative , Bachmann, then jumped ship to Perry, then Cain, now Gingrich, now Santorum! Bachmann who proved for the last few years who side she is on as she has worked tirelessly for conservative causes in Congress, you rejected! If you really want to know what Newt stands for read this, it is well documented. I dont like any of them but am starting to lean toward Paul. At least i know he will cut govt down to size and get rid of the Fed, though he’s terrible on immigration.
http://emergingcorruption.com/2011/11/newt-worthy-or-not/
One of the main bulwarks of the Progressive Establishment is the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). For over twenty years since 1990, Newt Gingrich has been a member of the powerful Council on Foreign Relations. Since 1921 the CFR has been single mindedly dedicated to the goal of undermining our National Sovereignty in order to promote a One World Government.
Newt,Really? Newt who dodged the draft? Newt whose vows are meaningless? Anyone to serve his wife divorce papers in her Hospital Bed and later Joke about it? Newt who supports Cap and Tax? Newt who wants a stronger EPA? Newt that opposes the Second Amendment? Newt? Obama can easily beat him! Didn’t we try this with McCain?
Famous, classic Newt quote said about his first wife,” She isn’t Pretty enough to be a Presidents wife, besides she has Cancer.”
Looks like the RINOs have taken over!
If anyone other than Dr.Paul gets the nod,a Caribbean locale….or perhaps New Zealand will be looking good as America will be unfit to exist in.
Strange, I’ve never thought the USA was Nation Building; rather Nation saving! Yes methods are strange at time (your enemy is my friend) but do not know any country the USA has ever fought over and then taken over!
I can plainly see that you know absolutely nothing about Ron Paul, or you wouldn’t be comparing him to a Marxist, Leninist . I have know him for 20+ years, having first met him at a Sound Money Conference in St. Louis, in May of 1990, then again in San Jose, Costa Rica, in December of 1990. The only problem Dr. Paul has, he has a hard time getting down to a lever where the average person can understand him; he has a tendency to talk over their heads. Fortunately, for our Republic, over the years he has gotten quite a following, with his message of freedom and Liberty. What most don’t understand, just because he doesn’t believe in nation building, doesn’t mean he would be weak on defense.
Ron has sponsored a bill every year he has been in Congress, to either withdraw from, or defund the terrorist UN. If we don’t get out of this terrorist organization, the time will come when our citizens will have to take sides and choose either freedom and liberty, or tyranny. I had thought, since I almost Ron’s age, it wouldn’t be in my life time, but now I not so sure. This terrorist organization has been trying to disarm America, since it was organized after WW 11, by Communist agents, like Alger Hiss, and Harry Dexter White.
Now, let me ask you, do you feel safer, that Obama’s “Arab Spring” has let al Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood take over countries like Egypt , and Libya?
Syria is on fire, will Syria be next? This is what is know as the “pincher strategy,” pressure from the top, the bottom rises up, after the government falls, the ones that caused the uprising take over. What follows then, since the “useful idiots” are of no use any more, many are slaughtered, simply because they find they had a much better life, with more freedom, before they helped the government fall.
Obama calls this democracy.
Gadaffi, love him, or hate him, the people of Libya will very likely never have anyone as good rule over them. When the UN terrorists got America involved in the attack on a sovereign nation that never attacked us, it took me back to Dec. 1961, the darkest day in American history, when at the behest of the terrorist UN, America slaughtered innocent men, women, and children, in Katanga Provence,
of the former Belgian Congo, to make sure no part of the former Belgian Congo escaped the terror of Communist oppression. I have written extensively, in Letters to the Editor, and on internet web sites, extensively about the parallels
between Libya and Katanga.
ROFL. Goeth is shows how uninformed people really are.
Gingrich and Santorum are not on the ballots of seVeral states consisting of a total of 509 delegate votes and cannot win the nomination. Do the math people. You are wasting your votes!
I am not certain, but believe that these two people could be nominated from the floor at their State nominating conventions and the National nominating convention. Delegates to the National Convention are committed only on the first ballot. If this is not conclusive, all bets are off. They can vote as they wish. Perhaps someone else who is more familiar with Republican Party rules could shed more light on this subject.
If you can correctly spell the name, you can “write-in” vote for the candidate of your choice. All ballots hav a “write-in” space……….
Is that really true? Is there no way to get them on the Presidential ballot if they win the nomination?
PLEASE… why would either one keep pouring funds into a useless candidacy? Makes no sense. Don’t U think they would KNOW how their electoral votes would stack up? Get real… a WASTED vote would be a third-party vote in the general election. ABO!
Well if Newt is the candidate of choice for this tea party web site I can not support this site with any donations or anything. My time, money, and effort must go to support what my heart and mind tells me is right.
Hi Shannon,
Thanks for the comment. As a reminder, LibertyNews.com does not endorse candidates and we do not, in a public way, support candidates in general. In fact, just yesterday one of our writers published an opinion piece that took Newt to the wood shed.
I thought it was clear in the post, but to make the point again, this survey included 29,000 subscribers. That is, readers and newsletter subscribers. NOT this website or its management.
If you feel it’s worthwhile to penalize our efforts because of the opinions of our readers, I would suggest to you that is a strange position to take. Especially since you are suggesting no further support for us because you disagree with the opinion of half of our readers.
That doesn’t seem right. But hey, this is America and you’re certainly free to do as you choose.
-Eric Odom
Mr. Odom, You have also taken Newt Gingrich to the woodshed more then once. Not only did you attack Newt on several occasions on Campaign Trail Report, you attacked me personally because I supported him.  Therefore, it is my opinion that the leaders of this site, which have a great deal of influence, are not much different then the media which is trying to choose our president for us.
Your definition of “attack” is far different than mine. According to the one I go by is located here.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/attack
I choose to define, not attack. The post I link to is 100% factual. It cannot be disputed and Newt himself has said it was a mistake for him to make those decisions. How on earth can it be an “attack” when I simply define a candidate based on something he himself has admitted to?
Or is it that you just don’t like that I wrote it and you would prefer certain facts just get left unsaid?
-Eric
It should also be noted that one comment here says we’re in the bag for Newt, another says we called Newt out. I think it can be established that we’re just reporting as we see it, not as you would like us to see it.
That’s a vote for OBAMA. Think about it. None of the Rep.canidates want to turn America into a socialistic nation.
Why are we so enamored by Newt’s words? Just because he says he is a conservative, over and over, and over again, does not make it true! I feel totally disheartened as we have supposedly been educated these past three years and yet, here we are, with NEWT as the front runner!!! As an independent voter, I don’t think I can participate in this movement if this is what this party comes up with! Makes me wonder if this even a legitimate party! All one has to do is look at all the links people have been posting for a while and more importantly, listen to the man’s own words, and see who this man is. Why is Newt’s progressive and globalist heart being dismissed?
On Thursday’s Mark Levin Show: What is happening with our conservative movement right now? What are all these attacks coming at Newt for all of a sudden? You have phony conservatives, trying to pretend they’re not part of the Republican Establishment, doing whatever they can to go after Newt, while overlooking Romney. Romney’s own adviser Norm Coleman said that they wouldn’t be appealing Obamacare entirely; what is that? The Republican’s wouldn’t have been able to take back the House in the 90′s without Newt, and now he is being trashed. Jeffrey Lord calls in and discusses the attacks on Newt. As does UFC fighter Chael Sonnen who will be fighting this Saturday on FOX television

Breaking from Newsmax.com
Mike Reagan, Rush Limbaugh Blast Romney for Smears
Ronald Reagan’s eldest son Mike Reagan has issued a statement lambasting Mitt Romney and his supporters for claims that Romney’s Republican presidential rival Newt Gingrich was a strong critic of President Reagan.
Reagan says such claims are false.
Even Rush Limbaugh, shocked by the Romney claims, chimed on his Thursday radio broadcast to say “This is obviously a coordinated attack to take Newt out here in Florida.”
Rush slammed the Romney-backed smear campaign against Newt.
“That kind of stuff is why people hate Romney so much,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh added that Newt has always been a conservative from his early days in national talk radio in the 1980s.
“He was perhaps the premier defender of Ronald Reagan,” Limbaugh said.
You trust Michael Reagan? He’s as bad as Gingrich.
Rush Limbaugh has been critical of Mitt Romney from the get-go, but he hasn’t gotten around to making his choice for the nomination — so he says. I’ve been a Rush fan since he started his national radio program, but I’m very disappointed in how he has conducted himself in this primary election season. I’m a Mitt Romney convert. At one time I admired Newt Gingrich’s debating skills, but the more I really listen to him, the more I’ve moved away from what he stands says he stands for. I’m not impressed by any of the other candidates, but I like the way Romney looks and moves in a crowd or on a stage. I like listening to his voice and I’m impressed by the fact that he doesn’t shout at us when he gives a speech. I like the content of these speeches and the way he handles those who are critical of him. Young people would say that “he’s cool.” And I tend to agree with that description of how he handles himself when the going gets rough in the debating sessions. I like the fact that he was a successful Republican governor in a state that has been pretty much controlled by the Democratic Party for the last 60 years or so. That takes guts, coolness and great deal of inner strength. Not too many politicians have these qualities to the extent that Romney does. You can disagree with what he had to do in Massachusetts to keep the lid on the boiling pot that was the Democratic Party, but I’m sure you cannot honestly accuse him of selling his soul in order to handle well the administrative problems he encountered as the governor of that state. Barack Hussein Obama is no smarter than he was the day he took office in 2009 nor has he become more skilled as an administrator the longer he sits with his feet up on the furniture in our White House. In fact, if he isn’t the poorest excuse for a president, he is the poorest example of what a president should be. If you can’t see what I see, then you’re not looking closely enough at what is out there for everybody to see.
Mitt Romney is a conman, just like the man we have in there now. Newt hasn’t conducted himself in a very dignified way in the past years, but he has seemed to have settled in with a woman that he cares about now. And as far as his executive skills, if you think that Mitt is better and more straight forward than Newt. Then maybe some of you should learn how to read people better. If Mitt wins the Presidency, we are going to be in the same boat as we are now, only with a few less holes in it. Newt IS a conservative, and will help us out of this quagmire we’re in…
Mark Cavaliere So I guess I will sell out all my values and principles, like the Republicans in South Carolina, and support Newt Gingrich based on a few lines in a few debates where he says exactly what I wanted to hear, and I’ll just forget that he supported an individual mandate and agreed with Hillary Clinton on healthcare, supported the Wall Street bail-outs, supported funding of Planned Parenthood, believes life does not begin at conception, supported global warming with Nancy Pelosi in addition to co-sponsoring 418 bills with her, promoted socialist Obama education policies with Al Sharpton, promoted cap and trade, supports amnesty for illegal immigrants, supported TARP, consulted and lobbied for Frannie & Freddie, supported Obama’s war in Libya, endorsed radical leftist Dede Scozzafava over conservative Doug Hoffman in the NY-23 special congressional election (and defended it), voted to create the Department of Education under Jimmy Carter, violated federal tax law and lied to the ethics panel only to be disciplined for ethical wrongdoing, idolizes and reveres the most progressive or despicable presidents (FDR, Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Andrew Jackson), has lobbied for and sided with liberal causes, has been called a liberal and progressive by solid conservatives (and tea partiers) for decades, indulged in counter-culture and smoked marijuana while in graduate school, and has a known track record that would make Bill Clinton blush… (to name a few).
I guess I’ll forget that this self-proclaimed “Reagan Conservative” said in the ’80s that Reagan’s policies were “pathetically incompetent” and “dangerous” and went on to say, “The Reagan Administration has failed, is failing, and without a dramatic change in strategy will continue to fail… President Reagan is clearly failing.”
yeeeah… and how is this guy supposed to contrast with Obama, other than being an adulterous “fat old white guy” from the establishment-Republican big-government crony-capitalism Bush-Clinton era? (That’s as Michael Savage put it when offering Gingrich $1 million to drop out for the sake of the country.) Isn’t this the same, or even worse, than John McCain? We saw how that match-up played out…
The only true consistent Reagan conservative in this race, at least as close as we can get, with a solid record of values and character, who can contrast Obama is Rick Santorum. HE is the one that the establishments claims can’t win. Heck, even crazy ol’ Ron Paul is more conservative as a libertarian than Newt or Slick-Mitt-the-Flip Obamney, at least on 80% of the issues.
Wake up people. If you’re not supporting Rick Santorum, or even Ron Paul, please exit Republican Party stage left; the Democratic Party has just what you’re looking for. http://bit.ly/wlxYRV, http://bit.ly/zXrzzo, http://bit.ly/xfrFbE, http://newtfacts.com, http://notonewt.com, http://newtcantwin.com
Mark.. You better do some more homework on Santorum. He IS as bad as ole Newt and Mittens. Read up on his ties to accuweather and what the nitwit wanted to do with the National hurricane center/NOAA etc for his friends at accuweather. He is as bad as they come. Most in this country in this day and age will not get behind a religious nut job either which yes Santorum is because of thew way he twists a bit of it to fit his warped views. My guy Cain is out so the best chance conservatives and the constitution has is Ron Paul.
Mark, I certainly agree with the last comment you made; I believe Ron Paul would have a better chance of restoring our Republic than any of the others. Few people understand Ron Paul, so they really have no idea what he is about, so obviously they haven’t followed him since he has been in Congress. He had a message of freedom, liberty and following the Constitution, in 1990, first time I met him, and his message has never changed. He was in big demand, for speaking on sound money, and spoke at at least two Sound Money Conferences.
Since Ron isn’t beholden to the CFR, or any other one world, internationalist organization, would his life be in danger? This is something I have considered.
Mark, very good points and that is what needs to be discussed BUT please do not ask any one, at anytime to leave the Republican or Tea Party because we need every vote we can get in every election. I hope YOU would not, not vote if Newt is the Republican nominee. That,or a third party conservative candidate would surely hand the Presidency back to Obama. Remember, ABO, (anybody but obama)!
Mark you are dead on, and if this is how blind people are this country is toast.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!
True or False With Ron Paul
http://www.libertynews.com/groups/admin-action-alerts/forum/topic/true-or-false-with-ron-paul/
Interesting to me are the inferences to be gained from Q# 5 “Who is your LEAST FAVORITE…” noting that Rick Santorum is at the BOTTOM of THAT LIST. The results of how may so called “Tea Partiers” proclaim him over Newt or otherwise is thereby their FAVORITE rather than promoting rhetoric to support the “electability” propaganda (to the detriment of a values based voting system) is absolutely relevant and noteworthy.
Pundits would be wise to point this out on a national level for those who want to draw out this primary process indefinitely as many would have it be the case.
Thank you , I cannot beleive more real – tea party supporters do not see the obvious.
We all focus on his experience in washington, however that expereince shows us tha the is not a true conservative. Rick Santorum is by far the most conservative, the most pro-life, the most level headed. So far he has not brought to the table a carisma that catches the less intelligent but thinkers, people concerned with America, Her role in the world, Her service to the ONE True God, are drawn to support Mr. Santorum.
Mark,
You have expressed so many of the things I was thinking when I read the polling results. I had hopes that the Tea Party movement was about voting your conscience, looking into the candidates past voting records and thereby spotting RINO’s to vote them out! People are such “sheep” and easily led by the voices that suggest someone is “unelectable” and thereby not worthy of their vote. I think we have instead lost elections because the majority has been convinced by the GOP elites to vote for their man as the only sensible choice, when, if they had all voted their conscience instead, the conservative candidate would have swept the election! If we can’t vote our conscience in the Primary…when will we ever be able to do it? Santorum is the only true Tea Party candidate in my opinion…I would rather vote my conscience than be party to electing a person that is wrong for this country and will be easily defeated by Obama’s lies just like McCain was. At least I will give account to my Maker for being on the right side in the final analysis. Remember the Mid-Term election sweep? Tea Party candidates have a very good chance of winning on their own merits after all!
“If HE gets nominated, I just won’t vote”
Thanks. You obviously HATE this nation’s Constitution. Obamessiah is YOUR MAN, obviously.
I am referring to you, as in all persons here believing Obama IS BETTER than Santorum, Romney, Gingrich.
At least do us a favor, and find a slacker, government bureaucrat, welfare queen, or a stoner to hang with all day on November 6, 2012. It will cancel out your “stay home non-vote” for the rest of us …..
with business as usual. WMark, I am with you on the TEA Party sell-out on principle. It seems that the mantra is “Anybody BUT Obama.” That is VERY bad. When we sell-out to globalists and one-worlders who are in the pocket of the corporations, we get nothing more than Obama lite. Rick Santorum, IF you truly listen to him, wants a Theocracy. He also wants the US to intervene in every country on the planet and set up rulers that are USA-friendly. How’s that been working out? Our best and brightest, volunteer servicemen and woman are dying, NOT for USA freedom. They are dying for money-grubbing corporations who go over and build-up after we bomb the living daylights out of nations, most of which we set up before we took them down. It is EVIL. The only hope we have is a man like Ron Paul. He is not like all the rest. He is truly for the limited government of the Constitution. He is our ONLY hope. Yet, the TEA Party chooses ANYONE BUT OBAMA. What a cryin’ shame. This will not end well for Partiots.
You read and listen to way too much mainstream media….
About the only thing Conservative about Newt Gingrich is the suits he wears! I’m 63 years old and remember how good old progressive Newt operated back in the days . Newt’s motto should be — He’s not always right…………..just very seldom wrong. I hope those who are swayed by his golden gift of gab, will check him out for themselves, and make an educated choice. And as far as Rick Santorum, I just don’t see him as President yet, maybe 2016
I have to agree with Mark. I can’t believe my eyes on those statistics. It’s like the Tea Party fell asleep. Newt? Really? If so many in the Tea Parties are duped by “a good debater” then I fear all is lost.
Oh, and during the poll the “Tea Party” took, someone should have done their due diligence and posted the information C4Icncpls provided above – that Newt can’t win due to his not being on the ballot in every state. So, now that the misinformation has been perpetuated, Tea Partiers in the states with him on the ballot will vote for him and waste their vote, while voters in other states who have a larger selection of candidates will vote for another candidate and split the vote. Are we so ignorant that we skip merrily along the trail doing exactly what the Dems want us to do. Newt has either been sandbagged or he has purposefully sabotaged the primaries.
Marge,
Everyone has the chance to change. Newt has said he has changed and even asked for forgiveness! I accept that but you may be correct that he is a fox in sheep’s clothing but I believe we must judge everyone on how they present themselves today.
Are we not praying for someone who can really shake up Washington and that will be difficult for anyone WITHOUT insider experience. Newt and Santorum may both be better at that than Romney. However, Romney is very Presidential, especially when he held his tongue in tonight’s debate when he commented on Newt association with Ronald Reagan (he did not mention that in Reagan’s memoirs, Newt is only mentioned once ).
Seriously? If that’s the Tea Party’s Choice, I want to turn in my flippin card. Ugh. The Tea Party is turning out to be a bunch of Sheepole….
Rick Santorum is the most conservative and has the great family values. Both NewtRomney may still support Obamacare if they are elected
I totally agree John. And if people look at question 5, I think one person in South Caroline comment – Should I vote with my heart or with my head. Rick is not an idea candidate, but at least he has principles I can live with. None of the candidates are true conservatives in my mind, however I rather have someone that appears to honest and respects others. He is a man of God and he seems to be living like one.
Both Newt and Romney have said a hundred times they will repeal Obamacare; is it good judgement to call them liars just because you believe Santorum has better values? Look deep in the mirror and lets stick together on this. Remember, ABO (anybody but obama).
Awww…Eric this is such sad news! Can’t the Tea~Party do what all politicians do & flip on their endorsement of Newt & deny they ever took a position???
Indeed ! Supporting Gingrich is hypocritical at best. ( and makes the media look right when they say that the Tea Party is just the republican party in disguise ).
Out of the candidates running.., there is only one who can actually be trusted to do what he says and who has an actual plan to cut the debt ( and not in ten or twenty years ). The debt is the biggest threat to our nation ( more so than any nation or military ).
There are far too many who are indoctrinated into believing in the warfare state ( there are boogey men under every rock ! ). It is sad to watch the debates and see how all ( except one ! ) are for ‘covert ops’, ‘sanctions’ , ‘embargo’s’ ‘government overthrow’.., and so on… ( and this for just the tiny island of CUBA ! ).
In truth, supporting anyone other than Dr. Paul is like voting for the establishment and the status quo.
Surely you mean to say that the Tea Party is to be the soul of the NEW Republican Party. We need to remember that anybody but obama (ABO) is the first step toward taking back the power in Washington with the correct Conservative politicians. We may all have an opinion who may achieve that best but remember ABO is the first priority, after that comes the real work of reducing Washington’s effect on all of us! We did not get into this mess in just 3 years remember and it will take more than one Republican President to get us out of the hole we are in; it will take the Senate and House filled with good family-values persons who know how to fight!
I certainly agree that the house and senate need to be made into majority republican.., but the ‘ABO’ mentality is just the same as the ‘lesser of two evils’, and that is something we have been doing for a long time now ( and has not worked. )
We need to vote for someone who will do what they say ( not just say anything to get elected ).., and there is only one who has a track record of doing this, only one who is not truly seeking the office for it’s power, but rather to minimize it’s power ( and restore that power where it belongs , with the people and their representatives ).
The analysis is flawed in at least one way. The operative question is not whether Tea Parties can outperform the GOP base, but whether the Tea Parties, having selected Gingrich and promoted his nomination, can outperform the rest of the electorate.
This post is tailored specifically for a primary election, not a general.
Newt is willing to say what many of us are thinking and that is refreshing. His past record which should be the subject for debate is set aside just to get someone who will speak for us. Newt has been an opportunist that tells an audience what they want to hear so I cannot say how he would govern. It is possible that Newt would bend under public pressure to actually cut the size of government but that means we would need strong leaders in congress that will stand by conservative principles. The leaders of congress generally follow the lead of a president of the same party so we come full circle back to what actions would Newt actually take as president?
I would take Newt at his word NOW! We can all learn from our mistakes. Isn’t that what we are hoping will happen to past obama voters?
Newt Gingrich is by far the best choice for President !! Not only can he defeat Obama, he has the experience and ability to take our country back.
We must all stand together ….We can’t stand four more years of this Marxist dictator-in-chief !!
Newt Gingrich 2012
Goodbye Tea-party, I think you people who support Newt are making another big error in your judgement for a candidate. Conservatism is only an ideology, same as Liberalism is to the Democrats. Since Harry Reid  is still around, I have no faith in your judgement of electing any more candidate for office anymore. When I joined in 2009 , I was a Grassfire member  at the start of the Tea-Party, the goal was to elect for 2012 President an outsider of Washington. Now you not only endorse someone who was an insider, but a black-sheep to boot. This is a laughing stock if Newt ever get to be President which I strongly doubt . You people who support him has no fore-sight, all sheep. How can you recommend someone who has been infamous for his baggages & was down in the polls for months & now suddenly with a flash of a one-moment of passion shown on 1-23-12 CNN debate by this clown Newt determined him the nominee for President right away. El Gore &  John Kerry were good debaters, but did they become President? Charisma can get you so far. Think of people like Hitler, Mao Tze Tung, Mussolini, all of them are good speakers. Look how their countrymen ended up with, in chaos, suffering & death.  President Obama is a dumb nitwit & Newt is a crafty over-wit. Make your choice, & America is going to suffer for sure. Leopards never change their spots.
I cannot believe ANY Tea Party group would support Newt, Santorum or Romney. HELLO people they are THE SAME. They are hardly conservative from a fiscal standpoint ( what we need most of all ) and not much better on the social front either. Wont even get into their lack of respect for the constitution either. I was a Cain supporter and there is no way those guys will ever get my vote even if they are the nominee and that is because they will set us ALL ( Conservatives ) back many years because of the kind of influence they will have on the party. Ron Paul is the only one left standing who i am willing to toss a vote to from this party. He IS atleast fiscally conservative hardcore and has total respect for the constitution as well. He is no Cain but close enough.
I fear you are pinning the Hitler button on the wrong person. Please remember ABO, anybody but obama, he is the one to fear, not the one who says he has learned from the error of his ways. Haven’t you?
ABO is a cop out. We cannot abandon our principles. The enemy of our enemy is still NOT our friend.
What’s the point in beating Obama if we replace him with another establishment douche bag that steps allover the Constitution?
Yes and few persons supported Ronald Reagan UNTIL he was in the office! He did very little in the way of governing as a conservative in California! I want a man with moral excellence like all of you and what could be better than a reformed politician who has seen the errors of his liberal days? Outside of lying constantly, obama has good moral character; its his lying and Fascism I can not accept!
Ken, the only thing we have to judge a politician on is their record. No matter what drivel they might spew on the campaign trail, history has proven that more often than not campaign promises are forgotten and politicians quickly return to their old habits. What a politician says while campaigning is not a good determinant of how they will perform while in office – their record is the only concrete means by which to judge them.
I joined the Tea Party, when it first came out. I went to my local events, I became webmaster for several sites. Then it became clear, the tea party was just another arm of the Republican party…. the side of the Republican party that I have come to despise after giving them my votes for over 20 years.
I AM a part of the TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY group….. however of the four candidates… only one of them wants to CUT SPENDING. And that is Ron Paul.
You surely are not listening to the debates. All of the Republican candidates want to cut spending and reduce the outrages hold Washington has over us. I believe we must remember that Tea Party conservatives in Washington have done us much good in the past year and this over regulated, too powerful central government will take many years to dismantle and it will not happen if we o not stick together and remember that the first goal is ABO.
If the party sends Romney, Newt or Santorum then yeah it deserves to lose BADLY. It amazes me to see how much stupidity has taken over the party and yeah this includes several tea party groups too. People need to remove the blinders. My guy Cain here looks to be out but there is still somewhat of a conservative in the race and that is Ron Paul. You religious people need to stop screwing it up for the party and get behind the only true fiscal conservative that is left in this race. Sorry but the country will not elect a religious nutcase like Santorum. And yeah he is a nutcase with the way he has twisted it to fit his warped views. And he is hardly a fiscal conservative and as corrupt as the other two bozos i mentioned. Stop being as dumb as those you rail against and thus Obama supporters. I can assure all me and a good number of others will not be voting for Romney, Newt, or Santorum if they get the nod so the party had better wise up and quick or expect another 4 more years of the same.
If it takes a “religious nutcase” to pull us back from the edge of disaster, then SO BE IT! You IRRELIGIOUS nutcases haven’t had a whole lot of luck have you?? RINOS every one of you! Do Conservatives realize that Ron Paul is NOT a Republican but a Libertarian? That the Libertarian platform includes such things as: Legalization of marijuana, “hands off abortion”, etc.”
We’re falling for the same idiocys we always fall for. Smart people choose Conservative values … then they seem to lose their brains when they take them out to play with them!
Ron Paul is MORE THIS:

Oh !! come on !! lets just allow a sin or two, no harm done. Whats wrong with a Lil compromise ,, hey nobody’s perfect,, right?? Hey when it comes down to it we think that our boy Newt is a fine fella an will devour that Lil devil Obama and and rescue the world,, YEE HAW !! SALUTE,, Hail to the Newt,,  LOL!!!!!!  ONCE AGAIN THE UTTER STUPIDITY OF THE DUMB-MASSES BLOWS MY MIND. Anybody with even half of a brain should be able to clearly see that Newt  is for Newt,, not America. Newt has an inflated ego that is very large BUT VERY FRAGILE . I dont doubt that the Tea Party has good intentions on wanting Newt because they feel that Newt will clean Obamas clock in a debate. Well that depends on what day it is,, If Newt were to be in a debate with Obama an Newts big ego slips while having his past brought up, Newt the King will quickly become, Newt the looser. I too would rather see Newt as Pres. than the narcissistic out of control maniac that now holds that job,, but its alot like asking someone ,,, HEY WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO ROB  YOU NOW OR WAIT TILL TOMORROW ??As far as Romney goes,,  Mit is a democrat in republicans clothing,, thats a no brainier, enough said so who is left,, Santorum or Ron Paul. Santorum is clearly the more conservative Christian person an Ron Paul more the Constitution man. I personaly would like to see  Santorum win because he has the least REAL DIRT for the Anti-Christian left to dig up an I am one that believes because of all the prayers going into this election God will soon again bless America.
Ronald Reagan started out as a Democrat. We are hoping Newt’s transition is sincere. It’s just taking him a bit longer than Reagan (more years and more wives.)
I think God has already blessed America by giving us 4 really good educated persons any one of which will be better than obama.
You make very points and that is what needs to be discussed BUT please do not leave the Republican Party, but remember that it IS the Tea Party which made the difference in just a very short period of only 2 years. It took us 48 years (Kennedy died in 1963) to get ourselves into this mess and we need every near-conservative vote we can get in every election and every election cycle for many years. I hope YOU would not, not vote if Newt is the Republican nominee. That,or a third party conservative candidate would surely hand the Presidency back to Obama. Remember, ABO, (anybody but obama)!
If Tea Party = Newt count me out!
These numbers are a lie.
I took the survey and I used my vision to make the choices—Imagine each of them sitting in the Oval Office giving instructions based on advice from their selected sources…..Newt and Romney came out positive where as Rick came off timid, as far as Paul the view went black…There still maybe others that come to the fore front, as it is early.
Let’s think this thru’.. Hmmm.. Newt has DEBT and needed a BAILOUT to stay in the race (which he got from a casino tycoon). Mittens has MONEY because he knows how to GENERATE IT AND THEN KEEP IT. Let’s see.. who would I trust with the economy.. hmm… this is a no brainer people. ..well .. at least to anybody who has one.
I like a President who does not need the money or the power of the job to be in the job.
Our country really needs a man that is truly an honest man with intergerty, honesty, truthworhly, and has unbeinking love of God and Country which is Mitt Romney and not Newt for all the reasons you already know about and certainly he must not truly believe in any religion’s code of conduct..
Well Newt has asked for forgiveness, that is a virtue you need to show toward him to not be hypocritical! Yes? Nothing better than a reformed person to lead in the correct direction. Love them all because I remember the objective, ABO (anybody but obama)!
..if the media is pushing for him.. he is NOT who is best for the country! Look what the media did the LAST time around! Listen, watch and LEARN! PEOPLE!
That IS good reasoning and the last poll O’Reilly mentioned about how the media is treating the Republican candidates is that the media ran articles always much more negative than positive on ALL the Republican candidates, so you are correct. That also fits my goal, ABO (anybody but obama)>
Yeah, Newt’s a real conservative alright.
I think the liberals hacked your polling data. I don’t believe that anyone other than the liberals really wants to see Newt as the Republican nominee. Newt as nominee would ensure a second term for Obama, no doubt at all.
Not if we stick behind whomever is the Republican nominee! Remember ABO!
I think this proves is that the TEA Party has a) Either lost it’s mind, or b) has been taken over, or was always controlled by the establishment GOP. Back when I attended a TEA Party, there is no way those people would have supported a moderate like Newt. People also don’t see reality when they say Paul is the least likely to beat Obama..polls have him beating him, and Paul will garner the same support everyone else will, plus more…libertarians, anti-war, occupy crowd, he will get A LOT of them, no one else will. Paul is the only one that can beat Obama.
Romney will NOT repeal Obama Care. He STILL brags about Romney Care and it’s destroying MASS.
Rick Santorum was also for individual mandates back in 1994. He just forgot to mention it while he was slamming Newt Gingrich during the Thur. debate.
Ron Paul is behind the left field fence looking in the wrong direction waiting for someone to hit the ball. He’ll never see it coming.
Newt is not a Washington insider. Washington is about to have a heart attack for fear he might be coming back. He did good things while he was there. He balance the budget four years in a row. He brought in the first republican congress in 40 years. He reformed welfare and Nancy Pelosi will probably explode when he’s elected. He’s a brilliant man and the only one that can beat Obama. I am having a hard time believing some of the people posting here are really conservative. I’m proud to be a tea party member supporting Newt Gingrich. None of the others qualify. Unless we want to keep Obama Care. It will destroy this country forever. Think about it folks. Newt is our only hope.
Newt 2012~
Romney has said he would repeal obamacare, so I take him on his word. We have to believe what our candidates are saying about what they will do and trust that they will be able to do what they promised. However I like Newt BECAUSE he IS a Washington inside in that he knows where the problems are. See we can support the same candidate even if we view him differently.
Are you kidding me? The only real Tea Party champion dropped out a couple of months back. Gingrich is a loose cannon. Let’s face it people, we don’t have a candidate (AGAIN).
It’s sad and frightening how polarized we’ve become. Newt has the highest lifetime Conservative voting record of all the candidates. Obama is by far the most divisive, anti-American president of all time. These are not my opinions, but a summary of well informed observers. What is the tea party objective? Stop the class warfare and financial hemmoraging. Yet 29,000 opinions are wrong? We must come together or we will be overtaken by far worse problems.
Newt Is a MAJOR progressive! People are so nieve! Really listen to what he supports. His favorite President are Wilson, Jackson, FDR, T. Roosevelt. Wake UP People!!! Newt will be just a step below Obama, but taking us to the same place. BIG Gov’t and welfare.
If this is true I don’t have nearly as much in common with the tea party as I thought. Newt is a progressive adulterous scum bag! He may talk the talk – but he is no conservative. I suspect foul play. Can you say voter fraud.
Tea Party people wake up!!!! Newt is a Progressive from a long time ago. In this article I find it amazing that Santorum didn’t get a mention. He scored well in a few categories. Maybe I missed it????? Santorum is the Conservative of the lot Of course, Ron Paul is too but his foreign policy is scary.. If individuals would quit ignoring Santorum and the fact that he DID win Iowa, maybe he could make it. The GOP wants the same old-same old moderate. Romney has said it numerous times that the states can decide on their health care. What this means to me is the states will run your health care with Romney-still government in your private lives.
I consider myself a Tea Party conservative. But I can honestly say that if your poll numbers are correct (which I am skepitical to say the least) I can and will no longer support this website. And according to the comments I am reading I am not the only one who feels this way. Other polls I am reading report much closer numbers between Romney and Newt. And most Tea Pary people I know, actually support Santorum, but they don’t believe he can beat Obama.
Last night’s debate was just more of the same. But, I did learn that every answer from Mitt Romney is “blind trust”. I feel that what you see is what you get and I am clearly not ready to put my trust in someone who doesn’t seem to know what is going on with his own money and every answer is “blind trust”.
Kudo’s to the Tea Party for their support of Newt Gingrich. I say Damn the torpedos from the MSM, Republican Hierarchy, and SuperPac and non-SuperPac ads from Romney. Vote Newt! He sure isn’t going to be another Obama. I believe he has the wherewithal to beat Obama soundly!
If there is one thing I have learned over the past debates, Romney is hiding many things. I don’t trust him. I believe he is the one that everyone else wants us to vote into the position, but that means we shouldn’t listen to the MSM, Ann Coulter-clearly a long time liberal, the Reupublican Hierarchy…we should vote our hearts and minds! Vote Newt!
Sad to see the Tea Party and Grassfire Nation backing Newt with all his baggage. Ron Paul and Rick Santorum, no chance of nomination that’s a fact. Romney, not the best, but better than the lot. Tea Party, your failing lately and keep this up the Party will crumble if Obama gets re-elected.
I have considered myself a conservative and a silent member of the Tea Party (health reasons prevent me from being involved personally). That is why I have been distressed to see that Gingrich is the choice of the Tea Party!
I was politically active during the time that Gingrich was reigning over the House as Speaker. He was arrogant, dismissive, hypocritical… shall I go on? There are several reliable accounts from people who worked with and under him. He was/is the nightmare boss. He is disloyal and dishonest. All his moves are calculated to promote himself, and if the Republican Party or the nation benefit in the process, all the better — but not necessary!
While Romney is not the dream candidate, he is miles ahead of Gingrich in every way. Gingrich is a narcissistic Obama in sheep’s clothing.
LISTEN TO NEWT’S OWN WORDS. Some folks just do not know what the word establishment means. Amnesty for Illegal aliens Global Warming, GATT NAFTA that is “establishment” see for yourself. Newt is a walking disaster as head of a GOP ticket. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyeB36ctO5I&feature=share
My biggest fear is that Newt will win the nomination and then implode in the election, giving the country to Obama and the D’s for four more years. The nation may not be able to recover. Amazing, but Newt’s ego may be the thing that destroys our nation.
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY AFTER THE HACK JOB HE AND THE RINOS DID ON NEWT !!!!!
I will not renew my member ship in the republican party after 32 years because of this gang bang that I have witnessed in Manipulating the minds of Voters by the REPUBLICAN establishment over these past few days to OUST Newt Gingrich , the political system is BROKE !!!!!
As usual, we are left with few desirable choices. All of them have baggage from their past. However, all of them are extremely more desirable that the current Occupy White House goober. My first choice never even made a showing. My second and third choices are long gone as well. But, I continue to choose from those remaining. The most power the average citizen has in their life is serving on a jury and voting. Take neither one lightly, as they have both been under attack for many years. But, never have they been more so than under the current administration. Remember, the primary goal is to get B.O. out of office, since Congress has not done what they should have with the infiltrator. Please remember these two things: 1st – get stinky out of office: and 2nd – get your candidate in. Now most importantly, if you fail at the 2nd one, do not forget the primary mission (#1). If you have disdain for the GOP nominee, please do not vote for a third party or not at all. That would be the same as voting for stinky. It’s a divide and conquer scenario. We need to be united in this fight to remain AMERICANS.
If you had to vote for the presidential race between Owebama and Newt come on people my god use your heads any of these republicans would be 1000 times better than this clown we have now well except maybe Ron paul he is tied with the bamster they sound alike remember anybody but OWEBAMA!
Loser Ron Paul is an aging anti semite and his paulbot followers are the underbelly of society.
A Redstate Exclusive: Ex-Staffer Calls Ron Paul â€The Original 9-11 Trutherâ€
â€When Al- Qaeda attacked our country on 9-11, Ron Paul told us the CIA was behind it. And that Bush and Cheney knew about the attack in advance.†That is a quote from ex-Ron Paul staffer and confidant Eric Dondero about Ron Paul. Eric called Paul â€the original 9-11 trutherâ€.
This makes sense on so many fronts. When Congress was getting ready to vote on a military response in Afghanistan, Ron Paul initially OPPOSED responding to the attack, and expressed no concern about those who died that day. In fact, his only concern was that this attack would be used by the Bush administration to invade Iraq.
http://www.examiner.com/conservative-in-spokane/staffer-says-ron-paul-opposed-to-military-reaction-of-9-11-terror-attacks
They say that â€birds of a feather, flock togetherâ€. After Ron Paul got destroyed in the 2008 Republican presidential primary by John McCain, he showed his pettiness by refusing to endorse fellow Republican McCain, saying that â€I couldn’t find anything we agreed onâ€. Ok, so you can’t find any common ground with a highly decorated naval aviator who was captured and brutally tortured as a POW. When the badly wounded McCain was offered â€to be released out of turn†by the North Vietnamese, McCain refused it unless the men that were captured before him were also released. Yet that’s not the type of man that Ron Paul can support? OK, then who did he endorse?
Also running for president in 2008 was Cynthia McKinney. a race baiting Democrat considered one of the most far left members of congress. McKinney was the elitist who arrogantly struck a white police officer because he â€dared†to ask her for ID. McKinney is also the one who tried to impeach President Bush, Vice President Cheney. and Secretary of State Condi Rice for being â€war criminalsâ€. Yet Paul chose to endorse this worthless piece of trash over McCain???
http://brian-therightperspective.blogspot.com/2011/12/flashback-ron-paul-endorses-cynthia.html#!/2011/12/flashback-ron-paul-endorses-cynthia.html
However, McKinney possessed one advantage that McCain did not. She is a fellow truther. Cynthia has been outspoken in her belief that 9-11 was a â€government conspiracyâ€. And she accused President Bush of â€needlessly murdering the innocent people of New York City so his popularity would rise.†So naturally Paul endorsed her over McCain.
And the cult truther movement obviously considers Paul â€one of their ownâ€. In fact, when Paul gave an interview to a conspiracy group called â€We Are Changeâ€, they asked Paul WHY he didnt come out with â€the truth about 9-11â€. Notice that they didn’t ask him â€if he believed 9-11 was an inside jobâ€. Why didn’t they ask that? BECAUSE THEY ALREADY KNEW THAT HE BELIEVED THAT!!!!!
But surely Ron set them straight. Stood up for America and said that 9-11 was not a conspiracy perpetrated by the Bush administration to start a war with Muslim countries so that Jewish bankers could get rich. That 9-11 was in fact a cowardly attack by Al-Qaeda on our country. Nope. When they asked Ron the reason he didnt tell everyone â€the truth about 9-11â€, Paul actually said that he â€couldn’t handle the controversy because had a full plate and was dealing with other issuesâ€. Wow. I will post the transcript and link including a video of the interview below.
Kyley from ‘We Are Change LA’:
Kyley: Okay and one last thing why won’t you come out about the truth about 9/11?
Paul: Because I can’t handle the controversy, I have the IMF the Federal Reserve to deal with, the IRS to deal with because no because I just have more-too many things on my plate. Because I just have too much to do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrQVaiFYmcg
It sounds to me like Ron Paul is a truther but isn’t honest enough to come out and say it directly because he knows it will kill his political career. Or maybe career politician Ron is just acting like a truther to con those morons into supporting him politically. Either way, this corrupt creep belongs in the nut house, not in the white house.
Eric also said that â€Paul is not opposed to foreign aid, he is just opposed to foreign aid to Israel. Whenever you hear Paul talking about cutting foreign aid, he always leads out with Israel. But Egypt and Pakistan actually recieve more aid than Israel doesâ€. â€And Ron wishes the Israeli state did not exist at all. Paul has said this to me on many occasions. Ron is 100% pro Palestinian and believes ALL of Israel should be surendered to the muslimsâ€.
I asked Gregg Hilton of the RSC(Republican Security Council) for his assessment of Eric’s claims. â€Dondero is right on the money†said Gregg. And then Mr. Hilton gave me the following examples:
Paul is a supposedly a foe of all foreign aid, but there is one exception. He naturally supports full funding for his Hamas buddies at the Palestinian Authority.
On June 20, 2007, Paul and Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) were the only two lawmakers to vote against the Rothman-Kirk Resolution, which calls on the United Nations to charge Ahmadinejad with violating the genocide convention of the United Nations Charter based on his numerous statements.
Paul has called the Gaza Strip â€a concentration camp†and defended the Palestinians right to make bombs and to recieve weapon shipments to attack Israel with.
On June 19, 2009, the House voted to pass H Res 560 by a 405 to 1 margin. The resolution was entitled: “Expressing support for all Iranian citizens who embrace the values of freedom, human rights, civil liberties, and rule of law, and for other purposes.†Guess which loon was the one negative vote.
He thinks Iran should have nuclear weapons but then says “We need to take out the CIA,†and wants the agency abolished. OK, that combination would give us a nuclear Iran led by a wackjob holocaust denier(Ahmadinejad) and us with no intelligence information on what is happening in the world. And that scenario makes America safer how?????
(My thanks to Bruce Cohen of â€Stop Ron Paul 2012†for setting up the interview with Eric Dondero for me. And of course a great big thank you to Eric for his time)
http://www.redstate.com/mikeymike143/2011/12/30/a-redstate-exclusive-ex-staffer-calls-ron-paul-the-original-truther/
I used to be proud to call myself a “tea partier”, no longer. How in the heck can you people who supposedly want small government support a man like gingrich, whos favorite presidents are the icons of the progressive movement, (T. Roosevelt, Wilson, and FDR)????? Not saying Romney is much better nor am I a Paulbot but this support of gingrich, just because he SOUNDS good in a debate leaves me dumfounded and horrified that so many are ignorant of who he really is and how he votes. Our country truly is forsaken.
As a conservative, and veteran, it pains me to believe these are the best our party has to offer. I truly believe that regardless of who becomes “our candidate” we will just be supporting the lessor of the evils
Gingritch is a RINO, a Beltway Insider, who has sold his Party down the river. Come On! Are you telling me we can’t come up with better candidates than these??? Pu-leese!!! If these are our choices, it looks like Obama will win again because of our piss-poor selection….
A third party candidate would give Obama the Whitehouse. The goal is to beat Obama. The indipendent voters are important to get over the top.
phony poll. I don’t believe a knowledgeable patriot would support a NWO chill.
The Tea Party is again revealing it is little more knowledgeable of the Constitution than those on the left we vilify.
If the TEA party supports a Big Government Progressive like Newt, then we are all doomed, and just planning to commit suicide. Mitt’s just a big Lib, and Paul is a nut case at best. Bachmann was my #1 choice, now the only man standing is Santorum.
I don’t care who gets the GOP nomination. I will vote for whoever it is the Republicans nominate. The goal is to get Obozo out of office. He is taking this country on a destructive course and we can’t take another four years of him. The eventual Republican nominee may not be my first choice, but I will support him.
I don’t care who gets the Republican nomination. The goal is to get Obozo out of office. He is taking this country on a destructive course and we can’t have another four years of him. The eventual GOP nominee may not be my first choice, but I will support him.
This is really a disgrace. I had held hope people had begun to stand up against the governments choice for president. To read that the Tea Party is supporting Gingrich of all people is disheartening to say the least. Your being provided with their choice of two evils and your taking it. I’m sad to say I must choose to stop supporting the Tea Party. As to me the Tea Party should represent the people and their choice. To support Gingrich or Romney is supporting the current system and allowing it to continue unchecked. You will see no change as they are both in the pockets of the current dictatorship. Your deluding yourselves if you think your making a choice. When in fact your eating what your being served without question. As for me I choose to stand against being told who I can or can’t support. I choose the freedom of making my own choice. And I will write in my candidate because who I choose will not be allowed on the ballot by the current decision makers. I choose to have a voice instead of being led around by my ear being told what my choices are.
Tea Party “Movement” does NOT support Newt Gingrich. Tea Party “Patriots” apparently supports Newt Gingrich. Big mistake.
Newt Gingrich is deceitful, and has proven himself 100% for Newt Gingrich, not the people of the U.S.A.
The nominee will be Mitt Romney.
Sounds to me like the the Tea Party just became the Republican Party!
Why is it that no conclusions were drawn regarding Rick Santorum’s popularity among Tea Party members?
When asked which candidates were acceptable, Santorum was fewer than 6 points below Gingrich. When asked which candidate was the respondent’s LEAST favorite, Gingrich’s score was 3 x’s higher than that of Santorum who received the lowest score of 5.3%.
No one wants to talk about Rick Santorum because of a perceived notion that he is unable to excite anyone with his rhetoric. I don’t agree! His arguments are excellent, he states them with self confidence, he is very direct and forthcoming with his criticism of the Left, the ability to debate comes very naturally to him, he has a pleasing voice and pleasing appearance, and he articulates every one of the Conservative social and fiscal principles and many of their values regarding government size, function, and adherence to the Constitution.
He does point out that he is a Republican, not a Libertarian, and therefore does not believe in small government but rather smallER government. This leads me to believe that my principles and those of the Tea Party lie somewhere between Conservatism and Libertarianism.
This may explain why we collectively can’t get behind any one candidate, a dilemma that I find very disturbing. It might help for a representative body of Tea Party administrators nationwide to work with, on an individual basis, those candidates who come closest to our expectations in order to reach a mutual understanding and agreement going forward.
Once again, we will elect the most important leader in the world based on hope and change. We citizens have greater ability to research our candidates now than at any other time in history, but many citizens have fewer principles to base their research on. Understanding the U.S. Constitution IS WHERE I STAND, rather than searching for WHERE TO STAND, makes the choices for ALL OFFICES easy for me. But it makes it incredibly frustrating to watch the indecisiveness of my countrymen.
different day, same ol’ sh.. er, stuff…rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Time for Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Clean Karma and dry powder offer our best hope for the future…
However, if you ARE going to vote on electability—there is simply no evidence whatsoever to support that Newt Gingrich is the best person to fit that bill. Why? Well, people just don’t like Newt Gingrich. They know him, they remember him, and they don’t like him.
Jim Geraghty points us to the latest favorability polling:
Fox News, 1/12-1/14:
Obama +5
Romney +7
Gingrich -29
CBS/NYT, 1/12-1/17:
Obama -7
Romney -14
Gingrich -32
PPP, 1/13-1/17:
Obama -3
Romney -18
Gingrich -34
Historians, go to work. Show me one time in modern history that a major party has nominated someone this unpopular. There might be a couple of examples, but to my recollection, it’s completely unheard of.
Newt’s defenders would say that “this is an election—not a likability contest.†True. So, who would win in an ELECTION against the President? Luckily, we have plenty of polling on that exact topic. Each set of numbers is a different poll, showing the candidates’ level of competitiveness against President Obama.
CBS/NYT (all numbers are VS OBAMA):
Romney EVEN
Paul -4
Santorum -11
Gingrich -11
ABC/WAPO
Romney +2
Paul -7
Santorum -9
Gingrich -12
Fox News:
Romney -1
Santorum -12
Gingrich -14
CNN
Romney +1
Paul -2
Santorum -6
Gingrich -9
ANYONE but Obama!
We are fortunate to have four COURAGEOUS PATRIOTS who, unlike Obama, are ready to work for us. Gingrich is the most experienced, intelligent, and capable of the four.
As co-author and architect of the “Contract with America,” Newt helped the Republican Party succeed in the 1994 congressional election. In 1995, Newt was named “Man of the Year” for his role in ending 40 years of majority control by the Democratic Party. During his four years as House speaker, the House enacted welfare reform, passed a capital gains tax cut in 1997, and in 1998 passed the first balanced budget since 1969.
As every human being, Gingrich has sinned. However, he has recognized he has sinned and he has asked for forgiveness. The fact that Gingrich’s daughters and grandchildren love and respect Gingrich speaks volumes.
Believing in REDEMPTION, thinking Americans in general and Tea Party patriots in particular will vote for the most experienced, intelligent and capable of the GOP candidates – Newt Gingrich.
Lol Newt. Do you people even know what the Tea Party is all about?
- Newt co-sponsored 418 bills with Nancy Pelosi while in Congress
- Newt supported the 2008 TARP bank bailout bill.
- Newt supported the Individual Mandate in ObamaCare that forces individuals to buy health insurance.
- New sided with Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi in supporting Cap and Trade.
- Newt voted 4 times to raise the Federal Government’s debt limit.
- Newt opposed a bill which would have required the President and Congress to balance the federal budget.
- Newt voted to create Jimmy Carter’s Department of Education.
- Newt voted to extend and expand farm subsidy programs.
- Newt voted against cuts to the food stamp program.
- Newt voted to increase the FDA’s authority.
- Newt voted to extend the federal government’s regulations to the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Newt voted in favor of the Chrysler bailout (which included a federally mandated “freeze†of wages for employers of Chrysler).
- Newt voted in favor of the bailout of the Savings & Loan industry (TARP-lite).
- Newt voted for Jimmy Carter’s oil windfall profits tax.
- Newt voted to increase taxes on coal producers.
- Newt voted to increase federal gas taxes.
- Newt voted for a $1 Billion increase in home ownership subsidy programs
- Newt voted to strengthen the federal home loan agencies which condoned the behavior which led to the collapse of the housing market
- Newt voted for Jimmy Carter’s Energy Act
- Newt voted to support and pass several gun control measures while in Congress
- Newt supported the use of federal taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions.
Well Daniel I can almost hear the folks saying,,, say it aint so ! Newt would never do such a thing. Lies lies,, there all lies. Lol!  I guess when its all said and done all we are left with is the hope that God in heaven will help us all an have his way. I think by the time Newt an Romney get done exposing each others short comings some Hollywood director will get rich making a movie about it. Meanwhile theres a man living in the white house ripping this country apart.
I believe the Republican Party purposely chose John McCain in 2008 because they knew he didn’t have a chance of becoming President over Obama. The GOP secretly wanted Obama as POTUS then and I suspect they still want Obama continue as POTUS!
I’m not impressed with any of the GOP candidates! My choice for President is Retired General Patreaus, now CIA Director. He is the only one with the best foreign relations, military, financial, etc., experience of any of the GOP candidates, and he won’t put up with the Socialist B.S. that is going on and has been going on for the last three years, plus! Besides that the General took the Oath to support and defend this REPUBLIC as have the other Federal Gov. officers which WE the PEOPLE can clearly see that a large percentage have done just the opposite!
I find it hard to believe that so many people are supporting Gingrich primarily because of some emotional outbursts at the media circus called a debate. I thought it was the liberals who allowed their emotions to rule them?
If Gingrich gets the nomination, the GOP will lose the House, lose senate and not win the White House. The man carries more baggage then the Red Caps at the airport. His record clearly shows that he is not a conservative.
Please wake up and stop supporting a sound bite candidate.
Proves only that the majority here are nothing but a bunch of naive arm chair chicken hawks.
I feel rather disheartened at the choices we have. I think I’m not alone in wishing there was another candidate to choose than anyone who is running. That being said, we are unfortunately left with the current field. Any of them is better than Obama, but I’m afraid that they all will need pushing in the right direction on one issue or another. It’s essential that the effort to find good members of congress continues no matter who we’re left with in the presidency. After all congress still has some power despite the efforts (and many successes) of the current administration to turn this country into a dictatorship.
Newt is a pro-Obamacare politician who has become increasingly liberal. If Newt gets the nomination I, and most of my friends, will not vote. It is better for Obama to lead the country to further ruin – there will be no question as to it being the work of the socialist progressive left. If Newt is elected he will abandon conservative principles and, as in the case of Bush, pursue a middle road to ruin that will discredit conservative and constitutional ideals.
I agree, RINO is a term that fits Newt like a glove.
How sad that Newt has duped so many conservatives into supporting for him. If you look at the man’s voting record, you’ll see that he’s far from being conservative. Newt voted for:
- The Department of Education
- Granting China most favored nation trade status
- NAFTA
He is – or at least was – a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, an organization dedicated to subverting America’s sovereignty. It has also been reported that he attended Bohemian Grove.
Wake up people!!!! This man is not who you think he is!!!!
Im sick of GOP corruption. Im sick of congressional corruption. Im sick of very rich men being able to set themselves up monopolies to lord over our lives and then the laws are made to prevent us from going around it. And always for our own safety. Im sick of congress being bought by these men. I dont care how hard they try to shut Ron Paul down. Im voting for him. They can get their jelly fishes to go on sites and tell people if Obama gets relected its all your fault because you voted for the best man instead of the corrupt party leaders. No matter what they do….Ill write Ron Paul in if I have to. Im not a jelly fish and they can stuff their opinions where the sun dont shine.
Has anyone added up the totals on Question #4?
Please indicate which candidate(s)
In other words, you could select more than one.
I personnaly don’t believe in any poll and believe this is a poll that got fixed. The Tea Party is not the orginal party. I believe we are far more indivivuals now. I am glad that others agree with me that most of these persons responding do not really know Newt Gingrich!!!
must have been the ,”freedom ? Works , AMESTY LOVING , dick armey , Anarchist arm , of the teaparty , that would endorse this OPEN BORDERS FOOL !!!
crawl back under your rock newt & take your illegals with !!!
No. No. No. No. No.
Something is really wrong with the TEA Party.
Small responsible government? Gingrich? Mr WIlsonian? Mr FDR was the best president of the 20th century? FDR … who set government mandates prices for businesses to sell their products and services …. who had business owners with lower prices sent to prison? …. who set up internment camps in America? … who made our depression go many years longer than the rest of the worlds? by making us the only nation to have a GREAT Depression? … who BANNED gold ownership by private individuals in America? .. I’m just getting started!
If Gingrich is the TEA Party choice, the TEA Party sold out and it’s DONE!
This poll is fixed. This website is run by a rino. Newt and Mitts are cut from the same cloth. Common sense has gone out the window. I think I’ll follow it. Maybe I can find a place where reason reigns supreme. This website is meant to further confuse and split the Tea Party. This poll has made the truth known about the people who operate this website. Don’t give them any more money.
Thank you for this survey. I support Newt as well. Mitt Romney has nothing to do with the Tea Party, he supported Democrats…. It’s obvious that he’s playing us all.
People, the truth is “we the people” got thenational tea party groups where they are today and “we the people” can make them go away just as fast as we created them, and that time, I am very sorry to say, has come. There are four local tea party’s in my area and all of are growing at a rapid pace, and we are begiining to see a lot of positive results of our efforts to restore our local and states government to one that is constitutional and truly a government of the people.
I have been sounding the alarm about the national tea parties going ROGUE and RINO, since the mid term elections of 2010. I doubt they were ever really sincere in their original claim their mission was to severely cut government spending, reduce the national debt and restore America by forcing the government back within the boundaries of the constitution. Either the national tea party groups have forgotten their mission agenda, or never intended to follow it to begin with. One thing is clear, they are not very discrete in their postings about which candidate they are campaigning for, and their candidate is not neither very conservative (he’s a Marxist or at the very least sympathetic to Marxism) and he is not going to win the nomination.
Anyone who actually believes their poll showing Newt as the conservative choice to beat Obama or anyone else, probably also believes Newt will have thousands of Americans living in a colony on the moon by 2020, yes, thats right, not malibu, the MOON.
I think Ross Perot claimed Martians attended his daughters wedding. Now I am wondering if he meant Gingrich was there.
.
I belong to the Tea Party and have been supporting them with donations for about a year. I believe Romney would make an excellend President, stop Illegal “trespassing”, and improve the economy. Ultra-Conservative Amm Coulter said that Romney is the most Conservative of the candidates, and Gingrich is the most Liberal.
Just because Gingrich talked tough to the moderators is politics and Gingrich is wishy-washy on Illegal trespassing, talking over and over about another Amnesty, like McCain. Millions of Illegal alien Trespassers are “directly” related to many of our problems financially & national security wise.
As a Conservative I will not vote for Romney at any level. If Romney is the Republican Nominee I will vote for the Constitution party. A vote for Flip Romney is a throw away vote. I firmly believe that if he were for some terrible reason to get the nomination it will insure a second term for obama. Flip Romney is a far worse candidate than loser McCain. In 2008 I voted for Sarah Palin and old RINO McCain was a tag along on her coat tails. Since that time I decided that I would never again hold my nose to vote for the lesser of the evils
#1 — I do not recall being solicited for this poll. Were the survey takers “selective” in their contact lists?
#2 — The tab in my browser says the title of this article is “Tea Party Movement Over …”
Prophetic.
I would like to see Newt Gingrich as President and Rick Santorum as Vice President… I think the combo would be great!
I disagree with you, Paul Z. Romney uses “Political Speak” and I don’t trust anyone who can’t answer questions directly… He says a bunch of words that don’t answer most questions…or at least the ones he doesn’t want to answer…
And in a comment to Jacquie, I agree that we don’t seem to have a great choice for the GOP party, but what’s there I prefer Newt for P. and Rick for VP…If I could, I like to see Colin Powell be the President…
I am the Tea Party. Gingrich, what?! He (Gingrich) has been endorsing a lot of “Tea Party” and other groups alike lately… Ron Paul is the only Constitutionally Right choice! This poll does not represent me (or the Constitution?).
Seeing this poll really disappointed me. It also disappointed me to hear all the cheering at the South Carolina debate for the three candidates who said “Kill Them”
(or something extremely close) and the boos for the one who preached the Golden Rule. What has this country come to? If you want Liberty, Paul is your choice. If you want Socialism or Fascism, any of the other three will do. If you want Big Government – once again, any of the other three will do. Paul has one weakness; his inability to explain things in soundbites that the majority of people will pick up on. His answers take time to explain. I thought the Tea Party believed in limited government. I guess I was wrong. The other three candidates are bad news in many ways and on many levels. This poll should scare any thinking American into action. Anybody who supports the other three candidates did not do their research.
They are different shades of the same thing, and I for one am tired of the same old thing and having to vote for the lesser of two evils. Voting for Socialism or Fascism is marginally better than voting for a Communist, but I’ll take Liberty every time.
Make no mistake – Gingrich, Romney and Santorum talk about limited government and cutting spending, but that’s what it is – TALK! They also want perpetual war. What is so great about that? Do you remember when Clinton issued an Executive Order that the United States would absorb a first nuclear strike? Have the Republicans or Democrats repealed that? Ron Paul would, because he believes in a strong defense. Can anybody come up with a good reason why we need over 900 bases overseas while we close bases here? Why do we need 10,000 troops in Italy? There are a whole lot of questions that the other three won’t talk about. If you want the Status Quo – do not vote for Ron Paul!
Ron Paul is too dead set on legalizing drugs in this country, and he has a screwy way of looking at foreign policy, he’d get this country attacked within 2 years in office….. If he wanted to be President before he died of old age, he should have moved to the center just a little. Right is just fine with me, but he’s way, way too Right!!!! And then he’s goes way, way Left on the drug thing…. He needs to get a grip on things….
It appears you have little understanding of the constitutional rights of freedom of choice. Ron Paul is saying – let a person make their own mistakes. That’s not “left wing”. That’s called liberty! If a person want to cop out on drugs so beit. We should pay for them in the prison industrial complex, paid for by you tax dollars.
If you don’t get it you don’t get it!
I can only wonder whose side this site is on. Lately, since the Carolina primary, the conservative sites I follow have split. Some now follow the Republican establishment, which seems determined to field a candidate who will be unacceptable to the voters and will thereby guarantee Obama’s re-election. Another faction continues to support Ron Paul on his merits – and on his excellent but largely ignored showing even in the recent primary. Make up your mind, America – will you vote for the selection of the Party machine, or the one politician who just MIGHT do some good?
What bothers me is, not one of you people are without sin, but, have any of read the Bible? It says, ask and you will be forgiven. Who are any of you to judge someone like you do Newt? That’s not your job, if God can forgive why can’t you? Newt said he has changed and has God for forgiveness, that’s enough for me. Most of you say, if my nominee is not picked I won’t vote, well, fine. Give your vote to Obama, that’s what you will be doing. If ya’ll don’t care anymore for this Country that that, then it doesn’t matter if Newt gets it. Obama is totally destroying this country and instead of saying, I will do everything in my power to see him get out of the WH, then something is wrong . Read, listen Romney is almost to the T just like Obama, Santorum, while may be a good person, not in my opinion, but I don’t think he can take on Obama and win. Ron Paul has some great ideas and would probably be a great President, IF we didn’t have to have foreign policies. Newt, while not the greatest, I feel, is the ONLY one, in a 1 on 1 with Obama can win. He takes no bull and can shove it back in his face better than any of the others. I’m no expert and never claimed to be. I am just terrified with the way this great Country is going and I will do whatever it takes to get Obama ousted in Nov. That is the only goal anyone should have, not slamming others because they don’t agree with you or downing the Tea Party because they didn’t pick your guy. We have got to stick together and fix Washington and it will take all of us. We can’t continue to fight each other or Obama is going to win hands down. That is NOT the Country I want my babies to grow up in. I would hope, no matter who the nominee is, no matter if he is not your pick, that you would just hand it to Obama. I refuse to believe a real American would do that. Now everyone, cuss me out, it’s ok. thanks for letting me rave.
A vote for Mittens is a vote for Rino’s period!! Was that the main goal of the Tea Party Movement was to get rid of rino’s. I will vote Newt
So much arguing about parties while the country is on fire and nobody runs for water :/ Hard to believe so many will keep voting for lies, corruption, wars and a global agenda. If Ron Paul is not taken seriously all these petty things won’t matter anymore. We will have nothing left to fight over. I’ve finally realized that because I paid attention.
Polls are to be taken with a grain of salt, otherwise they would never be wrong.
They are often wrong.
SANTORUM FTW!!
I lost my candidate when the Conservatives once again fell for the old Democratic trick of smearing the candidate that threatens Liberal policies the most. Isn’t it odd that we always start the campaign season with a load of RINOS and maybe one or two true conservatives and then rumors and innuendos start to fly about the true conservatives who really threaten what the Liberals want? Isn’t it odd that the RINOs always end up owning the field and we true Conservatives end up voting for a RINO because all the Conservatives have been chased off the field? When will Republicans stop falling for the “woman reveals that …”, “business partner claims …” crap that Demon-crats don’t even bother to worry about even when it’s proven to be true?
If any of you had an inkling of an intelligent idea, the best man for the job is U.S. Senator Jim DeMint of South Caroolia. He’s an arch-conservative and, until this chrade began its focus on Romney and Gingrich, he had received forums on major networks. It appears that DeMin’t has too many good ideas that might interfere with the media’s quest for another Obama win…that was fueled by the largest outpouring of blacks in history who believed everything that charlatan said and continues to spew…even though many of them couldn’t understand what he really said.
I wonder how many can still believe him and really thought he would take care of their morgages and get them jobs and automobiles….whether they be Caucasian, Black, Hispanic or whatever…and, how many of those promises has Obama kept?
I believed Romney might help America…voted for him in the 2008 primary…and while Gingrich is pretty quick with reports and could probably smother BHO in debates…I think of the final four, Santorum has the cleanest and smartest record…however, DeMint is smarter than the whole pack.
If it stays the same, I hate to see what will happen to future generations who have been duped so badly.
Are you black? It sounds that you’re being duped by a charlatan. Really Mitt Romney is Obama Like. Santorum is a war monger and zealot that would want to control your every thought if it were not a christian one!
You don’t seem to have it together as the laimestream media tosses this so-called Tea Party movement everywhere but toward the true conservative in the race. Ron Paul!
When Bush got his two terms did you believe those that voted him in were being duped? I certainly did think he was a criminal like Obama who has followed his lead throughout.
This attitude of ABO will get you Obama or Obama Like, and what will be your excuse, or will you not see that because he happens to be Caucasian? This country is doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Remember the wars and banker bailouts started with Bush and the Republicans. Ron Paul voted NO!
Santorum/Romney/Newt will get you more wars, less freedom, and financial slavery just like Obama!
Of course…it’s South Carolina…not as send…
I guess I’ll have to stop supporting the “Tea” party movement, they used to support RON PAUL but for some reason they stopped looking at candidates past history and they ignore what they stand for, and if committing your self to the CONSTITUTION, the AMERICAN PEOPLE, and the USA you fined that wrong then, just like Ann Coulter said to reelect Obama; vote: Gingrich or Rom. You need to hear TomWoods, or Judge A Napolitano even after that one needs to learn about RON PAUL, and see what he stood for the last 20-30 yrs. Regardless weather it made him more popular or not. One can not listen to the media we all know what they try to do to Dr. R.P. read romans in the “B” see how APOSTLE PAUL was persecuted. Yeah I guess I’ll have to tell all my friends too……………………………………
I believe we have to work towards getting a constitutional House and Senate. Jim DeMint is working long and hard for that objective. He believes they can than work with any of the candidates, and hold their feet to the fire. I believe Romney is the right choice and that is how I am going to vote, we need someone good at understanding that it is the private sector that creats jobs. To me Newt is a big government man and being”the smartest man in the room” he may be difficult to work with, as before, sorrry I don’t believe he has changed that much. however I will vote Republican come November regardless. Lets give Paul the Fed to do as he must. What fun that would be to watch.
When I hear the Liberal Media tell me that Romney is the one that can bet Obama I know I will not vote for him. When I hear all the old established Republicans are against Newt, then I know which one I will vote for. Newt shook them up before and Newt can do it again. To me Romney is to much like Obama. Look at Romney care, look at how Obama gives the gays what they want so did Romney. Look at the way Obama defends Planned Parenthoold, so did Romney.   I know our country can not take four more years of Obama or Romney I am voting for Newt.
I am ashamed to be affiliated with this organization based on the results of this poll! How can the majority of you support Newt Gingrich? He is a BIG GOVERNMENT right-wing progressive. He has no ideas that are consistent with the T.E.A. Party.
Ron Paul is the only candidate that embodies the T.E.A. Party ideals in toto. He is the only candidate who has declared his plan for reducing actual not projected government spending by $1 trillion.  He is the only candidate who will reign in the powers of the Fed, the Treasury including the IRS, and the rest of the unruly federal government. He is the only candidate that I trust to actually end Obamacare that is if the Supreme Court doesn’t do it first. Dr. Paul is the only candidate who will appeal to independents and even some Democrats.
I see that Rick Santorum came in second. I am not a big fan of his but I would be more at ease if you chose him first over the others. Based on these results I am seriously considering ending my membership with this group.
I have written this before, but not on this forum. I will and, YOU should, vote your conscience. I am afraid that Mit, Newt, and Rick all represent BIG government
and are more Liberal than me. They have a tendency to say to you exactly what you want to hear. RON PAUL, on the other hand tells you what is really going on and
pulls no punches.
He has a couple of positions that I don’t agree with (and he may be an Isolationist)
but on balance, he stands for the same things I do. I refuse to vote for somebody
I don’t believe in just to get rid of BHO.even though that is a worthy objective.
For smaller, more conservative government, you have only one true choice.
Hope you are wrong! Please remember that the first step is to stick together so we can beat obama! If we back the Republican nominee, we can get the govermnent to at least begin to made that big turn away from socialism! It has to be ABO!
WOW, Newt does have to make a lot of changes to be Conservative. When I consider his present wife and his past wife; he shows me that as he said, he is older and wiser now. I agree!
I am pleased you like Ron Paul; I love him too! However, remember ABO, anybody but obama! We need to discuss but vote for whomever the Republicans of the USA nominate so we can win in November.
Every vote will count and yours must be for the Republican candidate whomever that is!
I love Ron Paul but how can we expect him to change anything when he has never had a bill he sponsored pass through Congress? It took us 47 years to get here, it will take a long fight to bring us back to the conservative principles. Ron has fought well but not won much.
I’m sorry, but , duh, Ken! One can’t just stop at electing the right President; one must also elect the right Congressmen. Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater! Keep Ron Paul, and throw out and replace the corrupt Congress!
Ken, Dr. Paul did get a bill through. He got an audit the Fed bill through.
In other words. Vote my way….YOu HAVE to agree with me. lol
In other words, don’t write news stories that suggests something other than what I want to hear. Seems more fitting.
